So what tartan do Episcopal clergy wear? Those of us who are of non-Highland connection would like to wear Clergy but the tartan makers refuse to make Clergy in kilt-weight.
Should we denounce them from the pulpit?!

Since the biker rally (which is also called Easter Day in these parts) I've lost almost exactly two and a half stone. I'm not done yet either. Months to go before the butterfly emerges.

I've been trying very hard not to make this a diet blog. Encouragement can be so disheartening sometime.

Who was it who got their congregation to sponsor them to lose weight in Lent only to put on two pounds?

So Kelvin, you indicate that you are newly sylphlike. I don't think we've had a photograph of you since the biker rally. Therefore, we await with baited breath, photographic proof that a butterfly has emerged from the cocoon.

Having discovered the kilt late in life myself, I'd say give it a go Kelvin! You have nothing to lose but your reputation!

'Feeling vaguely moody and thoughtful in company at the end of a long day is a special treat you should try if you have never discovered it.'

Ah now that brings back memories. You have perfectly articulated your Thursday night persona at St Mary's. Or perhaps your every night persona... More confirmation that you seem to be recovering your youth.

My dear Kelvin - I think from the standpoint of historical rectitude you should have more of an affinity with the old 8 yards of tartan. After all, like us Scottish Episcopalians, it too was prescribed after the wee excursion up to Culloden in 1746!
